Can this even be called Music? on the "Home" EP: "a little surprise from Fountainhead : his Home EP. A sincere and wonderful folk/indie short. It is not what we expected from Tom “Fountainhead”, but we sure are positively delighted. It’s fresh and perfectly executed." -> http://thefountainhead.bandcamp.com/album/home-ep

Titelbilder
The first month of 2015, although pretty slow in releases, has seen some outstanding albums, and we’re collecting the four best ones – according to ourselves – to promote. First off, @[1559823531:2048:Lee Wanner] ‘s Every Man Is An Island. Lee really puts his whole personality in the music he makes. That makes it sound unlike any other. It’s progressive, voire avant-garde, and still accessible enough that it can be vaguely categorized as pop music. Secondly, @[257101667753636:274:Nathan Parker Smith] ‘s Not Dark Yet. It’s an experimental progressive metal album with big band instrumentation and orchestration. Truly, an album of epic proportions that will stick in our heads for a long time! Even though this album is from Fall of 2014, we just knew about it in early 2015, and that’s why we decided to put it anyway. Then comes Trivalent ‘s A Universe. A blend of latino music with fusion jazz, all atop some great, djenty instrumental progressive metal, telling a tale of the most epic proportions – the life and death of the universe. Finally, a little surprise from @[181807511860713:274:Fountainhead] : his Home EP. A sincere and wonderful folk/indie short. It is not what we expected from Tom “Fountainhead”, but we sure are positively delighted. It’s fresh and perfectly executed.

My new album "Reverse Engineering" is coming your way fast, folks! Here´s another sample from the lyrics, this time from the track "Ascension", which has the only guest-lyric on the record, co-written with my great friend Marcus ( Marcus Auerbach Trio), who took my ideas for this song to another level altogether:

"Ascend to what is never finished
I´m just following your lead
say farewell to what is coming
there´s nothing here for me.

here at the end of days
where you will be waiting for me,
still wearing that same old face
but now I see.

Oh I take dreams in black in white
where stray forms echo in the night,
it seems I´ve been running
forever unwilling to let it go.
now let it go, now rise,
and take to the edge of day,
run down and all but frayed,
with linings of silver
linings of silver and pearl."

Can´t wait to let you guys hear the actual song, sung by Gabriel Riccio ( The Gabriel Construct ) and featuring Bassist Ray Riendeau, drummer Yatziv Caspi and Matthias Preisinger ( Von Eden) on keys, mandolin and harp. (and a brass-section, and fretless guitars goings down to low F, and percussion instruments like Udu and Duduk, and....)!

It's beautiful to see people respond to the little free EP I uploaded yesterday. This nice review of it came in within the hour: http://www.canthisevenbecalledmusic.com/review-fountainhead-home-ep/ ♥ thanks a bunch, CTEBCM!

Hey folks, here´s a little new-years-gift for you - a free 3-track-EP called "Home": https://thefountainhead.bandcamp.com/album/home-ep A collection of 3 rather simple, ballad-ish, melancholic and hopelessly nostalgic pieces (2 instrumental, 1 vocal), previously only available for download to subscribers of my mailing-list. May this help you ease the new year´s hangover :) it´s free, but sharing or donating will of course be much appreciated. ♥, Tom / Fountainhead.

Happy new year, everyone. No need for new year´s resolutions, only affirmations. Everything you want to be is already within you. Through the good, the bad and the ugly, realize that you are exactly where you need to be. Fear is the Enemy.

As for me, 2015 will bring:
the new Fountainhead record, "Reverse Engineering".
a new Pitts Minnemann Project record.
a new Obscura record.
world-wide touring.
for the first time ever, a load of instructional material.
release of roughly a dozen records I produced & mixed in 2014.
a new (fretless) Fountainhead signature guitar from Soultool.
and tons of other things, so stay tuned.

Peace. Tom / Fountainhead.

P.S.: here´s a lesser known and somewhat bittersweet F-head track for you that might fit the "transitional" mood so many of us are in ATM: http://thefountainhead.bandcamp.com/track/electric-lullaby

Here´s a first glimpse into the lyrics of the new Fountainhead record for you guys - this is from a song called "999":

"the silver lining´s hidden meaning
our naked eyes have never known,
there´s a name we gave this feeling
of sine waves coming crashing down,
bringing death by digital distortion
of the self-denying everything
is fine as long as we keep dreaming
of things designed to never let us stop"

Here´s some footage from last gig of the year, Christian Muenzner - Official Site and band playing "The Gunslinger" in Düsseldorf for the first time ever. One rehearsal, only a couple of days to prepare, horrible-stage sound, borrowed gear, full-on improv-solos with the occasional bum-note... but you know what? It was soooo much fun playing with these guys, that I didn´t care one bit about any of that and just enjoyed the moment.
